On the smaller Smart Keyboard →

Back in February, I wondered if a smaller Smart Keyboard could be any good. Jason Snell has gotten some time with the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and its keyboard. Here’s what he writes:

Since the new-model Smart Keyboard must double as a cover for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, it’s necessarily scaled down from its 12.9-inch equivalent. The larger Smart Keyboard is 12 inches wide, enough space for a full-sized set of keys. The new, smaller model is only 9.4 inches wide, and that 2.6 inches of lost space does take a toll.

He does end up saying that the Smart Keyboard is totally usable, however. My guess is that if you’re a hardcore touch typist on the Mac, that this won’t be shockingly more comfortable than other, previous iPad keyboard cases. I’m jut glad that it’s not the dumpster fire I had feared it may be.
