Kbase Article of the Week: Adjusting the Angle of your eMac

Apple Support:

To adjust the angle of the eMac, eMac (ATI Graphics) or eMac (USB 2.0) computer, you can use the eMac Tilt & Swivel Stand, available separately at http://www.apple.com/store/.

Follow the instructions that came with the Tilt & Swivel Stand to attach it to your computer. Then hold the sides of the computer with both hands and turn it side-to-side or move it up and down to adjust the angle.

That Apple Store link is dead now, but here’s how Apple described the Tilt & Swivel Stand on the eMac’s product webpage:

Apple designed this Tilt and Swivel stand (2) as an optional accessory. Using it, you can tilt eMac from -5° to +15° up and down or swivel your system 360°.

Kbase Article of the Week: Mac OS X 10.2: Remove Microsoft Office v.X Test Drive before installing Microsoft Office

An oldie but a goodie:

Remove Microsoft Office v.X Test Drive if you cannot install Microsoft Office v.X.

If the Remove Test Drive application does not work, or if Office v.X is not recognized as the non-Test Drive version following installation, try deleting the Office v.X folder, then reinstalling the software.

If you need additional assistance, contact Microsoft Product Support Services (866) 474-4882.

FYI, that phone number still works.

Kbase Article of the Week: Xserve: USB, FireWire, and Optical Drive do not Respond

Xserve may exhibit a symptom where USB devices, FireWire devices, and the optical drive do not respond and external mass storage devices do not mount.

Xserve may be locked. Unlock Xserve using the Allen key that came with the server. Once the external mass storage volumes mount, you can lock the server again.

You can determine that the server is locked if the yellow security LED on the front panel is on:
