With the Google Nexus, is it More of the Same?

MG Siegler:

Google has done some very nice work here. Both the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich are a new pinnacle of the Android platform. But in the end, it still comes down to something very simple: which device do I want to use day-to-day? Which phone do I reach for when I’m not doing a review? It’s still the iPhone. Without question.

Keep at it, Google.

With every release of Android, I always get the feeling that the operating system is almost there. It seems that Ice Cream Sandwich may suffer from the same problem as its predecessors.

On TextMate 2

Kevin Lipe, at The Last Revivalist:

It’s not ready for primetime yet. It crashes weirdly. Stuff breaks. But, more than anything, it feels good to know that it exists, and that it really is a major evolution of the things that made the original TextMate so good. I Need More Than a Pretty Face

Dear Path and Stamped —

The case appears to have Apple-specific ports on the back and is decked out in the Snow White design language.

The Apple II ROM card is dated 1978. This auction isn’t nearly as cool, but it is rare.

The Instapaper Challenge

Marco Arment:

I can’t afford to invest months of development time into learning the platform and making an Android app, then supporting and maintaining it in parallel with my iOS app indefinitely, with so many other data points telling me that it almost certainly won’t be worth the investment.

So I’ll make it more interesting.
