My thanks to Rogue Amoeba for sponsoring 512 Pixels this week.
They have been helping Mac users for nearly twenty years, and their app Audio Hijack is a critical part of my podcasting workflow. Right now you can check it out online to learn more and download a free trial of Audio Hijack 4. You’ll be glad you did!
Liftoff has been deemed “an occasional podcast,” but we’ve got a new episode out:
Jason and Stephen pop open the hatch to marvel at the JWST’s first images, talk about the SLS and wonder what is going on with Russia and the ISS.
This week on Connected, we tour some old Apple Stores, alter some AirPods and think about tracking their sleep.
I think I have a new favorite Apple Store. The photos of this place are stunning.
After extended periods of use, the surfaces of the iSight camera will become warm. iSight was designed to comply with safety agency specifications; therefore, the surface temperature should not present a safety issue.
To ensure the iSight maintains a safe temperature, use it in a place where the temperature is always between 0º C and 35º C.
Michael Steeber has made something wild:
The Apple Store Time Machine is a celebration of the places and products that have shaped our lives for more than twenty years. This interactive experience recreates memorable moments in Apple history with painstaking detail and historical accuracy.
This Mac app took me back to my Apple Store days in a way I didn’t anticipate. The attention to detail in these experiences is really impressive.
Audio Hijack has been helping Mac users for nearly twenty years, and we are not stopping now!
Whether you want to save audio from individual applications like Safari or Skype, hardware audio devices like microphones and mixers, and even the entire system audio output, Audio Hijack can handle it. Simply put, if it can be heard on MacOS, Audio Hijack can record it.
Use it to:
Take it from the man himself, Stephen Hackett, who declared that Audio Hijack is “the best audio recording tool available for macOS, and…it just keeps getting better.”
This week on Mac Power Users, David and I get into Craft. While it can be used for simple note taking, it also packs a lot of powerful personal knowledge management tools for users who need them.
The number is a record for any launch vehicle over the course of a year.

After over 2 years as a full-time creator, I’m taking on a new role at YouTube as Creator Liaison ( @YouTubeLiaison)! Of course, I made a quick video collab with some creator and YouTube friends to help give you all the details.
Big congrats to my pal. He’s going to be great in this new role.
My Kickstarter campaign for a new version of my Apple History Calendar is halfway done. If you haven’t backed it yet, there are just 14 days left to do so. I’m thrilled with how it is going so far, but hope to see it pass last year’s campaign in terms of size. If you have backed it already, thank you.
