Audio Hijack 3.5 Adds Broadcast Tools →

Paul Kafasis:

Today, we’ve got a big (and free!) update to our popular audio recording utility Audio Hijack. Audio Hijack 3.5 is all about internet radio streaming, with a brand new Broadcast output block that makes it possible to send any audio to Shoutcast and Icecast servers. It’s perfect for running livecasts of podcast recordings, as well as livestreaming DJ sets, and powering all types of internet radio streams.

We’ve used Rogue Amoeba’s now-defunct Nicecast to stream shows to Relay FM’s website for years, and when they said the application was going away, I hoped that this day would come. Broadcasting is a great addition to a program that was already an indispensable part of my daily work. I would have happily paid for the ability, as those Rogue Amoeba folks are doing amazing work for us audio professionals who use the Mac.
