Tim Cook’s company-wide address isn’t a speech given by a CEO — it’s a conversation from an old friend. Touching.

iCloud on the Mac Sucks
Well, at least in the “documents and data” arena.
I’m sure the iWork apps on the Mac will eventually have iCloud built-in like their iOS cousins do. Until then, Dropbox is still the way to go for many, including myself.
‘Tremendous, Tremendous Demand’
The free iPhone 3GS is doing very well on AT&T.
Steve Jobs Biography Out Next Week
Order it from Amazon via this link and I get a kickback.
I ordered the hardcover version.
The S Stands for Psychosis
Apple has released the first TV ad for the iPhone 4S:
The company isn’t helping me with a little problem I’ve developed.
I keep trying to talk to my iPhone 4. I’ve caught myself trying to set reminders several times.
Maybe it is because I’ve spent a large amount of time playing with a coworker’s 4S. Maybe it is because my feed reader is full of 4S-related stories. Maybe it is because Siri seems like such a natural way to interact with a phone.
Apple Celebrates Steve
On that iPhone 4S/C Sprire Thing
Christina Bonnington over at Ars:
The C Spire announcement comes as a surprise to most Apple enthusiasts, as C Spire isn’t as well known as other national carriers, such as T-Mobile, or even Cricket Wireless. But maybe all the surprise stems from a likelihood that most Apple watchers are concentrated in large, metropolitan markets.
C Spire is pretty big here in Memphis. I know several people who are excited about this move. While C Spire is small, I think it will sell a ton of iPhones to its customers.1
Siri, Let me Hack This iPhone
I borrowed a passcode-locked iPhone 4S from a colleague here at Sophos and, with his permission, was able to write an email, and send a text message. If I had wanted to I could have meddled with his calendar appointments too.
All without having to enter the passcode. I’m sure you can imagine some of the ways this could potentially be abused.
Of course, this can be changed with a simple setting. I’m glad Cluley points this out, but I could do without the side order of passive-aggressive sauce1:
0.57 Percent
This sure puts things into perspective.
Remembering Steve
Fire Tim Cook
Clearly, Apple’s new CEO needs to get the boot.
Just look at these charts! iPhone sales down with rumors of a new model coming out? TERRIBLE! iPod sales continuing to decline show that AAPL is has-been. The iPad didn’t grow 650% over last quarter? Android tablet makers are taking over! Android’s time has come, all thanks to Tim Cook’s mismanagement of Apple.
How could the company miss a number carefully crafted by an analyst?! For crying out loud, it is their job to come up with such figures! They know all.
