I was fortunate. I found many of my passions — the Mac, journalism, design and photography — all at once.
My high school had an excellent newspaper program. The paper — named The Panther’s Prey — has won countless awards over the years. My freshman year, I applied to work on the staff. While I enjoyed writing, and had dabbled in computer graphics, I was by no means an expert in anything.

Two years ago, our son was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and became a patient at St. Jude Children Hospital here in Memphis, TN. St. Jude accepts patients without regard to their ability to pay. Even though we have insurance through my job, we have never paid St. Jude a cent for two years worth of care. Josiah’s care has included several operations, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, dozens of CT scans and MRIs, countless appointments with oncologists, physical therapists, nutritionists and more. It’s cost millions of dollars to fight his cancer.
I was lucky enough to be asked to join Myke and Terry on episode 49 of The Bro Show.[1. And yes, the joke on my last name has been done a thousand times.] We chatted about Apple stores, Twitter, iPad 2 and the iPhone 5.

This morning, Readability announced a new service that lets users’ fees go to the content-providers they like.
Marco’s excellent Instapaper service will support Readability, allowing users Instapaper’d items to count as Readability items. This will let content providers see traffic and income, regardless of which service their readers use.
I — like almost every web writer I know — have setup my site to work with Readability’s new feature, hopefully creating a little income. I have “Send to Instapaper” links ready to go, but I am not going to implement them on ForkBombr quite yet. I think that the reader should decide what service — if any — they want to use.
